Permashine Racer Chrissy Rouse on the mend
are pleased that Chrissy Rouse is on the mend and looking forward
to building on the progress he made at Cadwell Park despite a
huge crash of which he has no recollection. The 20-year-old from
Burnopfield near Newcastle had been on course for his best result
of the year as the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship
headed to his favourite track.
Rouse and the CECS/PERMASHINE Mission Racing BMW team had two
objectives as the weekend began – to break into the 1.29s
and land a top six finish, and they were looking on course for
success as Monday’s 15 lap race got underway at the Lincolnshire
The Geordie had already ticked the first box by setting his
best lap time of 1.29:986 during Sunday’s qualifying session,
and after finishing third fastest in morning warm-up was feeling
confident of a good result. Starting from seventh on the grid,
he got a quick getaway and despite almost getting tangled up with
Josh Elliott at the start, he rode a solid opening lap and moved
up one place to sixth. Settling in nicely behind former champ
Adam Jenkinson, Rouse was looking in a good position to perhaps
begin challenging for fifth by the time the pack began the third
lap. But disaster struck as he was coming towards the end of the
lap and a tiny mistake resulted in him losing the back end and
he highsided, hitting the ground hard. He had to be picked up
and helped off-track by marshals before heading to the medical
Circuit doctors sent him to hospital for a CT scan and to be
fully checked out before allowing him to be driven back home later
on Monday evening. Now back at home recovering – and getting
ready for a maths exam this week for his degree – the Newcastle
University student has admitted he has no recollection of the
crash.“I know it was going well, I remember those few laps
were good, I was in a really strong sixth and I was convinced
I could at the very least hold onto that position, and maybe challenge
for fifth or even fourth,” he said. I remember losing the
back end and then the next thing I can recall is sitting behind
the tyre wall with marshals and doctors speaking to me. I don’t
have any memory whatsoever of the crash, and even when I’ve
looked at photos of the marshals helping me off the track I don’t
After a solid night of sleep back at home he woke up on Tuesday
with a headache and a sore thumb, but is already looking forward
to the next round at Oulton Park in a fortnight, and is pleased
with the progress he made before the crash.

Hicky wins at Macau GP
On only his second visit to the Macau GP Permashine
supported motorcycle racer Peter Hickman has won the 49th annual
race with a six second advantage over Martin Jessopp with Michael
Rutter finishing in third place.
As the lights went out he slotted into second place
behind Martin Jessopp and the pair immediately pulled clear of
the pursuing pack. Jessopp had a good lead but as the race progressed
Hicky began to make inroads towards him and by half race distance
on lap six he was right with him. He followed him for a couple
of laps before making his move to take the lead.
With a clear track in front of him Hicky gradually
increased his lead and crossed the finish line at the end of the
12 laps a full six seconds ahead of Jessopp to give a fairy tale
win to the team at the end of a very successful year.
"I would like to thank my team as all their
hard work has paid off. Briggs Equipment UK for their support

HICKMAN TAKES MAIDEN ULSTER GP SUPERBIKE WIN
Permashine supported motorcycle rider Peter Hickman took his
maiden International road race win in superb style on Saturday
when he swept to victory in the second Superbike race at the Ulster
Grand Prix on the Briggs Equipment Superstock machine. This completed
a superb day for the 28-year who had earlier claimed a close second
in the Superstock race and a third place in the Dundrod Superbike
race on Thursday.
It was the final race of the day that gave him his finest moment
despite the Superbike race being held in tricky wet conditions.
Reduced in distance from six laps to four, Hickman grabbed the
lead the moment the lights turned green and ultimately led from
start to finish although he was under pressure throughout, firstly
from Michael Dunlop and Keith Amor and then Conor Cummins.
With less than a second between the quartet Cummins tried everything
he could to find a way past, but Hicky had everything covered
and took the victory. It couldn’t have been much closer
as just 0.028s separated them as they flashed across the line.

Strong Result for Hicky in Supersport
Hickman powered the Lee Hardy Racing/Iron Maiden Trooper beer
/Permashine MV Agusta Supersport bike to a strong 11th place in
the second Supersport race at the Isle of Man TT festival on Wednesday
posting his fastest ever lap of the course in the class of 17m
57.288s - 126.083mph on his final lap.
As the four lap race got underway Hicky made up ground to 19th
at the first checkpoint on corrected time and by the time he reached
Ramsey he was up into 11th place. He moved up a place to 10th
at the end of the first lap and held station until he reached
Ramsey on lap two when he was back down to 11th. He maintained
11th to the pit stop at the end of the lap and this time the bike
fired up first time after refuelling.
With two laps remaining Peter remained in 11th position but was
gaining time on David Johnson although he was unable to reel him
in and crossed the finish line in 11th just six seconds behind
on corrected time.
Peter said: "I haven't ridden a Supersport bike for at least
10 years so to set this fast pace this week is amazing. The MV
Agusta is a fantastic bike to ride and I have really enjoyed my
two races on it. Thanks to the boys at Lee Hardy Racing for the
fast refuelling time and also Iron Maiden Trooper, Permashine
and all my sponsors for their support."
Hicky has just one more race at this year's TT and that is the
blue riband Senior TT. Last year he posted a 129mph lap on his
final circulation of the TT course and was acclaimed as a rising
new star of the festival. He has already surpassed that speed
in the Superstock race this year lapping just shy of 130mph and
will be setting his sights at joining the 130 club on Friday.

PERMASHINE’s PETER HICKMAN - SEASON FINALE
Riding the RAF Reserves Honda Peter Hickman ended his season
with three points finishes in the MCE British Superbike championship
at the Brands Hatch finale over the weekend in mixed weather conditions.
went well for the Louth based rider who took the Mother Hubbard
supported Honda through to the final stage of qualifying to start
the first of three races from a third row grid position.
But the weather was against Hicky on Saturday for the 18 lap
opener as the track was wet and slippery due to the rain and he
was only able to finish in 13th place.
Hicky said: "That was a long race.I was struggling for grip
on the Indy section but the GP section was mint. I can't figure
out what we need to do to make the bike better in the wet. Lets
hope it doesn't rain tomorrow."
The weather was a lot better on Sunday and although there were
some damp patches there was a good dry line to race on. Starting
from the fifth row Hicky completed the first lap in 15th place
and made steady progress through to take the chequered flag at
the end of the 20 lap affair in 11th position.
Race three was run in the dry with Hicky starting from the fourth
row. He soon made it through to 10th place and at mid race distance
he was up into ninth position. He was poised to move further upfield
when the red flag came out to end the race because of a two bike
crash. A result was declared at 17 laps distance with Hicky being
credited with ninth place.
The 15 points awarded for the three races bring his total to
120 but he just misses out on a top 10 end to his season finishing
just five points away in 11th place - credit due to the Lincolnshire
rider who missed the first three rounds, six races, at the start
of the season.
"I would like to say a huge thank you to Lee Hardy Racing
and RAF Reserves plus Andrew from Mother Hubbard. The bike has
been fantastic all year and I feel we have been punching way above
our weight. I also would like to extend my thanks to all my personal
sponsors PERMASHINE, friends, family and fans for their continued
support this year."
Prior to the Brands Hatch races Peter was at Darley Moor where
he contested the annual Stars at Darley races. He dominated proceedings
scoring pole position, winning both races and setting a new lap
record. He won the trophy back in 2012 and still held the outright
lap record so to win the trophy again this year and also to better
his existing lap record was a perfect result for the Louth rider.
Hicky will soon be reunited with his Ice Valley TT BMW as he
is to make his debut at the annual Macau GP which takes place
from November 13-15.
